(1). Kombucha: If you’re looking to improve your cognitivestate, kombucha is a decent drink to start with. Not sure what that is? Kombucha is a type of fermented tea containing fruit particles. Kombucha works to kill bad bacteria in your gut. This will help improve your digestion and make your belly much healthier. That’s nice and all, but how exactly does this help your state of mind? Well it sounds weird, but a healthy gut equalsa healthy brain. Haven’t you ever heard of the gut-brain axis? I’m kidding. Most people haven’t. This is the line of communication between the gut and brain. It goes back and forth. When a person’s gut is satisfied, the brain allows them to think better. While a little more research needs to be done on the direct effects Kombucha has on your brain, there is no doubt that it’s effects on your stomach will benefit your brain activity. But newer research indicates that it could help the cognitive function of older people. One study focused on adults over the age of 60. Each drank over 500 mL of orange juice everyday for 8 weeks. At the end of the experiment, they showed some improvement in their cognitive function. This included their memory, verbal ability and reaction time. So the next time you’re walking through the juice aisle at the grocery store, you may want to consider a little OJ. This next pick is also a wide choice.

(3). Blueberry Juice: Much like orange juice, blueberry juice is something you can pour yourself in the morning. It’s a quick and refreshing way to get the day going. Why, you ask? Polyphenols! These are micronutrients containing tons of antioxidants. Polyphenols work to fight off oxidative stressand stop your body from deteriorating. This includes your very important brain. While the studies on this claim have been mixed over the years, many of them do point out to blueberry juice restoring cognitive function. Some of the more optimistic studies have pointed towards the drink improving both your short and long term memory. So while it might have a sour taste, you shouldn’t underestimate blueberry juices' amazing potential brain benefits.

But if you want to boost your brain function, it’s best to choose one with a ton of vitamins. These ones are usually green in colour. Green smoothies include veggies like kale, spinach and cucumber. Not your average afternoon drink. But get this, if you’re not the green vegetable type, you can also try green apple, avocado, yogurt or bananas. Now that sounds more like something someone from Earth might drink... Green juices and smoothies are loaded with antioxidants that will surely sharpen your mind. While not easy on the taste buds, kale and spinach have so many healthy benefits. Not to mention things like avocado and bananas. Got a blender tucked away? Open up that utility cupboard and pull it out. Unless you’ve forgotten where it is. Now you really might need a brain-boosting drink. Now the question is, how do you make beetroot juice? Do I have to ground up a bunch of beets and turn them into liquid. Nah, it’s not that complicated. You want black coffee without any cream or sugar. A beverage with a lot of sugar will have you feeling alert for a short while, only to have you exhausted while coming down.

Known as the golden milk, a turmeric latte can improve your cognitive state. With a nickname like that, it better do something good. Turmeric is filled with circumin. This is an antioxidant known to boost your production of BDNF. BDNF stands for brain-derived neurotrophicfactor. A low amount of BDNF is associated with a poor mental state. Drinking turmeric may very well be the antidote, as the circumin will work to raise your BDNF and restore your brain function.
