Hello. Today I am going to tell you 6 simple steps to keep your skin smooth and supple During winter. Now that winter is here Now that winter is here we need to know how to take good care of our skin Dry skin conditions such as psoriasis, eczema ichthyosis, tend to worsen during winter So, we have to know how to take good care of our skin so we can avoid any kind of dryness flaking and itching due to these conditions So, I am going to list out 6 six simple steps by which you can keep your skin smooth and supple during winter.
I know this sounds difficult but please try to avoid taking bath with very hot water during winter what happens with hot water is that it tends to strip the skin off its natural oil. It tends to dry out your skin even more which can cause more flaking and more itching so refrain from using very hot water for bathing If you take bath with bucket water then you can add add 5-6 table spoons of oil either coconut oil or olive oil into the bucket of water and then bathe with that this will help in forming a coating on your skin and reduce the dryness.
If you take shower and you cannot refrain from using very hot water then make sure your showers last less than 2 mins. you have to take a quick shower do not stand under the shower for a long time in winter. I know it can be relaxing after a long day of work but that is something you should avoid during winter time.
Actually if you have dry skin you need not use soap on a daily basis. you can use soap only in your armpit area and your genital area and your feet. that is it. You don't have to use soap on your arms, on your legs, abdomen you can use use only once or twice in a week that should be sufficient if the surface is dry nothing is going to stick to it. So even if you just take a water bath, it is going to get rid of all the dirt on the surface of the skin it is when the skin is oily that dirt tends to stick to it. So if you have very dry skin there is no requirement for you to use soap on a daily basis. you can maybe use soap once of twice a week. and even if you do have oily skin, make sure you use a mild soap or a glycerine based soap to take a bath in winter.
Do not be very harsh while using your towel. Do to vigorously rub the towel on your skin that is only going to make your skin dry and irritate the skin just be very gentle with the towel. You just need to dab the excess water off. you don't have to really rub it off or tug into your skin in order to dry it after bath So make sure you are very gentle with your towel after bath.
Apply a msozituroser right after taking a bath when the skin is still moist this is the best time to apply a moisturiser it will then seal the water layer on the skin and keep the skin hydrated for a long time rather than applying moisturiser after your skin dries it is always better to use it when still moist. Keep a bottle of moisturiser in the bathroom and as soon as you finish taking a bath when your skin is still wet apply a liberal amount of moisturiser on your entire body. This is the best way to moisturise. Once the skin is completely dry, the moisturiser that you put on the surface of skin will not penetrate very deep. If you apply it when it is still moist.. tends to seal the moisture and keep the moisturise intact and reduce the trans epidermal water loss. So, remember, to always moisturise your skin when it is still moist.
Also remember to moisturise your skin twice aa day. In winter, we tend to sleep with heater on this will really dry out your skin. so after taking a bath in the morning, you should moisturiser your whole body also before going off to sleep you should moisturise your arms and legs and face and neck this is very important if you want to prevent drying of skin.
You want to layer up during winter you want to stay warm but remember that you must wear a layer of cotton clothing under your woollen cloth.
